A land of waterfalls and volcanoes, Hilo is a tropical paradise. Visit Liliuokalani Gardens, a Japanese garden on the shore of Kuhio Bay and contains 30 acres of pagodas, ponds, and picnic areas. Inland, along the lower reaches of Mauna Kea, Kolekole stream plunges 442 feet over a cliff at Akaka Falls. Closer into town travellers can see Rainbow Falls, a beautiful 80 ft waterfall.

Nuka Hiva is a beautiful island blanketed in breath-taking landscapes and beauty. Hike through the deep valleys, passed the stunning Ahui waterfall to the picturesque Anaho bay with views of rolling landscapes and dramatic scenery due to the islands volcanic origins. Snorkel in the crystal waters and experience a colourful underwater marine paradise.

Rangiroa greeny-blue clear waters are surrounded by white sandy beaches, and are one of the world’s greatest diving destinations. Dolphins, manta rays and turtles often pass close to the island. Churches, craft centres, small shops and local restaurants line the road on town. A trip to the Blue Lagoon is a must for any visitor.

Papeete harbour is full of hustle and bustle surrounded by a mass of crystal water and sandy white beaches. Tahiti has a bustling, vibrant feeling with markets lining the streets, colourful boulevard and numerous sidewalk café. Neighbouring Tahiti Iti is home to a few villages and small beaches offering trips to view stunning waterfalls, archaeological sites and caves and beautiful scenery.

Day 18: Bora Bora

Bora Bora is surrounded by glistening white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and stunning mountainous landscape. This island is renowned for hosting many celebrities over the years because it really is a piece of paradise. The lagoon is three times the size of the island and is home to an abundance of beautiful marine life. You can hire bikes and circle the whole island taking in the breathtaking views and tropical wildlife.

Dramatic mountain peaks surround the deep blue waters of Pago Pago. The town is rich in history and culture filled with historic buildings and museums. Visit the Baroque Torre de Clerigos, the Roman Cedofeita Church and the home of the Navigator, Prince Henry for an insight into this ports historic beauty and to soak up some of the culture on offer. The shops offer a wide range of independent and boutique shops as well as top designers.

The Bay of Islands are a collection of holiday islands set in tranquil waters and on a backdrop of beautiful green landscape. Walks to Haruru Falls will allow you scenic views of the cascading water.
