The river is lined with busy malls, riverfront plazas, outdoor man-made beaches, water parks, botanical gardens and wildlife parks. The vibe here is relaxed with nearby Gold Coast and Surfer’s Paradise being a top location for watersports and some of Australia’s best beaches.

Day 3: At Sea
Day 4: Airlie Beach

Perched on a lush peninsula at Shute Harbour, Airlie Beach is a popular starting point for trips to the Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsunday Islands. Swim in the man-made lagoon, visit one of the many local pubs or restaurants or for those looking for a little more adventure, why not try the Whitsunday Crocodile Safari.

Day 5 – 10: At Sea
Day 11: Manila

Manila is also known as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’ due to its central location along the vital Pacific sea trade routes. Take a taxi ride in a customised Jeepney (former US military jeeps) to Old Manila – see Rizal Park, Manila Cathedral, Fort Santiago, or the medieval Spanish fortress, the walled city of Intramuros. Out of town attractions include ‘shooting the rapids’ at the fabulous Pagsanjan Falls or take a scenic drive past rice fields and fruit orchards up to Tagaytay Highlands, 2,250 feet above sea level.

Day 12 – 13: At Sea
Day 14 – 15: Shanghai

Shanghai is the cool, confident face of modern China, and its energy is infectious. Go to the Bund to watch ships on the river and marvel at the huge variety of architectural styles on display, or watch the crowds go by in People’s Square. Shoppers should make a beeline for the Fabric Market, where you can have a suit or dress tailor-made for you at bargain prices. At night, explore all manner of fashionable restaurants, bars and nightclubs or just stroll through the city enjoying the spectacular neon lights.

Day 16 – 17: At Sea
Day 18 – 19: Hong Kong (Overnight Onboard)

Hong Kong. mix of feng shui and finance, trams and temples still make it one of the most fascinating – and safest – cities in the world.
