Day 1: Fly to Bangkok
Day 2 – 3: Bangkok Hotel Stay
Day 4 – 6: Eastern & Oriental Express – Bangkok – Singapore
As the Far East’s answer to Europe’s most iconic rail journey, the Eastern & Oriental Express offers the likes of open-bar cocktails, personal-butler service and all-inclusive dining by award-winning chefs. In short, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You’ll also be treated to privileged views of rural Thailand and Singapore, as you wind past jungle rivers and far-flung villages to end in Singapore. Each stop presents an opportunity for expert-led guided tours, which range from cooking classes to naturalist-led hikes. It’s all knitted together by private-chauffeur transfers and bookended by ultra-luxury stays in Bangkok and Singapore – two of Asia’s greatest cities.
Day 7 – 10: Singapore Hotel Stay
Singapore to see the real Singapore, veer off the beaten path to Tiong Bahru. Start with local breakfast of mee pok (flat egg noodles) at Hua Bee a 70-year-old stall. Then, on to Tiong Bahru market to see how Singaporeans do their morning grocery shopping. Break for coffee at 40 Hands, pop into the hipster bookstore, “Books Actually”, and if feeling a little peckish, head back to the market for wallet-friendly hawker fare. If you’re in this area in the evening and want to splash on a good meal, head back to Hua Bee. By night, the coffee shop morphs into Bincho, a modern yakitori joint.

Day 12: Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang)
Port Klang. is 45 km from Kuala Lumpur, and officially a 90 min trip by road. So, this is one occasion you would be well advised to book on board for your shore trip. The fishing village of Port Klang is a short boat ride out of Port Klang. This fishing village will provide an interesting look into the life of a Malaysian fisherman. Most of the fish caught by these individuals are sold locally in markets. The fishermen use traditional methods that have been used for thousands of years, relying on nets and arm strength to catch fish. Of course, you can also grab some fresh fish here for a tasty meal.
Day 13 – 14: At Sea
Days at sea are the perfect opportunity to relax, unwind and catch up with what you’ve been meaning to do. So whether that is whale watching from the Observatory Lounge, writing home to your loved ones or simply topping up your tan by the pool, these blue sea days are the perfect balance to busy days spent exploring shore side.
Day 15 – 18: Yangon, Myanmar
Yangon (formerly known as Rangoon) is no longer the capital of Myanmar, but it has experienced a huge increase in tourism recently. While you’re in town, the Shwedagon Pagoda, an immense, ancient Buddhist shrine, is a must-see particularly at sunrise or sunset.
Day 19: At Sea
Day 20: Phuket
Being a big island, Phuket is surrounded by many magnificent beaches such as Rawai, Patong, Karon, Kamala, Kata Yai, Kata Noi, and Mai Khao. Laem Phromthep Viewpoint is said to feature the most beautiful sunsets in Thailand. It isn’t all just beaches though, there is also fantastic classical architecture such as the Goom Restaurant. That and the very welcome atmosphere and the famous Phuket nightlife, you can see why the island is a hotspot for tourists in Thailand.
Day 21: Langkawi
Magnificent beaches, mystical folklore and jungle-covered hills make Langkawi one of Malaysia’s most popular tropical destinations. Pulau Langkawi is the largest island and is home to Kuah, the main town which is great for a spot of duty-free shopping and nearby you can make your way to Mahsuri’s Mausoleum – a shine erected in honour of Mahsuri, a beautiful maiden who was unjustly accused of adultery.
Day 22: At Sea
Day 23: Singapore
Day 23: Fly UK
Day 24: Arrive UK
